KOSMO Web (System for Browsing Medical Expenses and Other Information, and Electronic Application)

The Health Insurance Society offers a web-based service (KOSMO Web) that allows you to browse your health insurance eligibility information, the medical expenses you have paid, and other information, and to submit electronic applications, including an application for the flu vaccination subsidy.
In March 2026, the system was updated with multi-factor authentication for enhanced security.

1. Initial login *This is the first step you must complete before you can use the new KOSMO Web.

To use the new KOSMO Web, you must set up (or update) your account, including your authentication method.
Please follow the “Initial Login Manual” below to set up (or update) your account.

Initial Login Manual

[User ID and password for your initial login]

First-time users:
Enter the temporary User ID and temporary password provided by the Health Insurance Society.
If you do not know them, please contact the Health Insurance Society at PDL-at-kenpo@advantest.com.
Users who have used the previous KOSMO Web:
User ID: The user ID you have been using (or that you set previously)
Password: Your password has been reset to your insured person code (4 digits) + number (1 to 4 digits) + your date of birth (8 digits in the Western calendar format).

* You can check your own insured person code and number on Mynaportal, your “Notice of health insurance eligibility information,” your Health Insurance Eligibility Certificate, or your obsolete health insurance card.

[Authentication Methods]

You can choose from three authentication methods.

a. One-time password authentication (email) * This is the simplest method.	Authentication is performed using a one-time password sent to your registered email address.
b. One-time password authentication (app)	Install an authentication app and authenticate using the one-time password displayed in the app.
c. Biometric authentication	Authenticate using facial recognition or fingerprint recognition on your device. * Even if your PC does not have a biometric authentication function, you can log in using the biometric authentication function of your smartphone.

[User ID Requirements]

Number of characters	8 to 13 characters
Permitted characters	Single-byte alphanumeric characters: Uppercase letters can be entered but will be converted to lowercase. Symbols: - (hyphen) _ (underscore) . (dot) @ (at sign)

[Password Requirements]

Your password must contain at least one letter and at least one number.

Number of characters	8 to 64 characters
Usable characters	Single-byte alphanumeric characters !"#$%&'()=~\|`{+*}<>?_-^\@[;:],./

Acceptable: d0000000
Not acceptable: Daiwauser … (because no number is used)

2. Service Features of This System

<Browsing>

Browsing "medical expense" information:
You can browse medical expense information on a monthly basis.
Medical expenses can, in principle, be browsed starting three months after the month of your medical treatment. You can use it to cross-check against the actual medical expenses you incurred, as shown on your receipt or statement.
Browsing “notification of payments”:
You can browse information on benefits and subsidies covered by the Health Insurance Society.
Browsing "prescription drug information (generic drug price difference notice)":
You can browse information on prescribed medications, as well as available generic alternatives when the prescribed medication is a brand-name (new) drug.
Browsing "information for medical expense deduction (e-Tax)" and provision of electronic data:
When filing your medical expense deduction using "e-Tax," an electronic national tax filing system, you can utilize the electronic medical expense data downloaded from KOSMO Web.
Browsing "Notice of Eligibility Information":
You can browse eligibility information such as members' symbols and numbers. Please print it if needed.
* After logging in, you will be redirected to MY HEALTH WEB (Notice of Eligibility Information site).

Electronic application for the "flu vaccination subsidy":
You can apply for the flu vaccination subsidy. (Available for a limited period)
Electronic application for the "dependent eligibility verification survey":
You can apply for the dependent eligibility verification survey. (Available for a limited period)
* After logging in, you will be redirected to MY HEALTH WEB (dependent eligibility verification survey site).

3. Other

* Available browsing hours: 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
However, on the 25th of each month, the system will be unavailable for browsing from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. due to maintenance.
(If the 25th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or national holiday, the maintenance is moved up to the preceding day.)
* Data can be checked and printed at any time for up to two years.
Please note that the Health Insurance Society cannot print the notification content on your behalf.
